Desktop Personal Computer Classroom (831 classroom)
This classroom is equipped with 61 Windows personal computers, a server, and a projector. Soft wares such as spreadsheet, word-processing, presentation, browser, electronic mail, and statistical analysis are installed in all the computers.


Seminar Room
This seminar room is equipped with 31 information connections, a server, and a projector.The teacher and students carry in a laptop personal computer and the discussion among them becomes heated, because of retrieving information by the Internet, information analysis and processing with the personal computer, and the presentation using the projector.


Library Studying Room
Information connections and power-supply are available here. The students use their own or a lend out personal computer, gather reference documents by the OPAC and information through the Internet, use documents inside the hall, and eagerly study by themselves.

Abstract:

Computer Education in Kyoritsu College of Pharmacy -Ability in Search, Write and Dispatch-

Teikyo University was founded in 1966 and of its 4 campuses the Hachioji campus is the core one where about 17,000 students of the literature course and the medical course freshmen are learning now. The Internet accessible campus LAN called TU-HOPE (Teikyo University Hachioji OPEn network system)was established in 1996. Its basic concept is an open network available at anytime to anybody and at anyplace. All the students have U.I.D. and can use the Internet and mail freely through the 2,373 LAN connectors. The 19 information education classrooms united to the LAN are available. Information education is performed under the carefully and skillfully constructed curriculum from the foundation to application levels. It is possible for the students to question teachers at any time by electronic mail, to receive advice, and to perform informational reception and dispatch on a scale of worldwide. Moreover, the education of a new form using multimedia has started.
